Pink or Blue? Girl or Boy? Yes, this was the week of that scan. Unhelpfully called the abnormality scan, I put niggling worries to the back of my mind and focused on the baby’s sex. Dr. Husband was over the moon to discover that the baby is a boy. His fears of having to sit through endless ballet shows are now not grounded. I was fairly ambivalent about whether it was a boy or girl, though I am glad we can now focus on deciding a name.

As I hinted at last week, my wardrobe is becoming rather limited. So, I thought it was time to consider wearing actual maternity clothes. Sadly, there is a real dearth of nice maternity clothes, as most retailers play it safe and stick to the basics. However, Mothercare have their own and branded stock, which means there is more of a choice of styles. Talking of pregnancy style, I firmly believe that one should stick to ones own style whilst pregnant, but this can be difficult to find. That said, I’ve noticed as my body is changing so do the clothes that suit me. So I’m seeing it as a great opportunity to try new shapes. This week I’m wearing a bodycon dress from Mamalicious at Mothercare.

Now, I’ve don’t think I’ve worn anything bodycon since Jane Norman were sued for copying Hervé Léger, and that was probably when I was about 15. Yet I’ve decided this is the one time in my life I can proudly show off my tummy. I don’t need to worry about feeling bloated, or eating too much as that’s all part of the look.

As you know I am a stripe junkie, probably because they are just so easy to style. I’ve put this jersey striped midi length dress with my black leather jacket and white trainers for a comfy everyday look. That said it would have equally have looked good with red lipstick and a denim jacket for a more nautical feel. Stripes in summer are always key, but this season the trend is all about monochrome stripes. They were seen in the Resort 2016 collections of Antonio Berardi, Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe and Preen.

Oh and if any of you have any suggestions for good boys names, I’d love to hear them.
