Beep Kidswear

Beep Kidswear is a new, London based, clothing brand for little girls and boys aged 0-24 months. A husband and wife duo, Beep is the brainchild of Carolin Zoll and Oliver Helfrich, who have created the fun little world of Beep. In their own words, the world of Beep is full of quirky stories and friendly little characters. Like the slightly over weight bi-polar bear in love with his candy. Or the little lion who thinks bad hair days are for tigers.

I loved the trendy sweatshirts and sweat pants, so I met up with Carolin for a coffee to hear a bit more about this exciting new brand.

Q: What’s your background?

I grew up in Germany, in the Black Forest but I moved to the UK for work. I’ve been designing for over ten years, for international sportswear brands and also freelancing.

Q: So how did you come up with the concept of Beep?

I designed the children’s wear range for one of the sportswear brands I worked for, and I really enjoyed doing it. But, I always wanted to design my own brand. My husband is a graphic designer specializing in branding and so we combined our skills and set up Beep.

Q: Where are you making all your items.

We wanted to support local businesses so all the fabric is made in the UK, and then it is handmade and hand printed in London. We specifically use lovely water-based inks as they are child friendly.

Q: Where is your product stocked?

We have our own online store www.beepkidswear.com and we are also stocked by online retailers in South Korea, Holland and Sweden.

As a mum, what I love about Beep are the wonderful graphic quirky prints on a lovely 100% cotton base. Fun, practical, unpretentious clothing that allows kids to do what they do best – play!
