Mini or Midi?

Currently it’s all about the mini or midi skirt, but which to choose? My life is spilt into two halves pre and post Daisy. For those of you who don’t know me well, Daisy is my ten month old daughter. I found one of the hardest things to get my ahead around, when pregnant, was how my body was changing. No-one tells you that unless hire a personal trainer and nanny from day one of your child’s birth, your body will never be the same again. You may get back to the same weight, but all the bits of you are in a slightly different place! So really there is no choice, the midi skirt it is. Ten months on, and I need to do a “reckie” of my summer wardrobe. Out go several mini skirts and short shorts. And in? Well this midi pleated skirt from & Other Stories for a start.

IMG_9978A cotton T is a staple in every girl’s wardrobe, and this year I’ve opted for this clean-cut, slim fit one from Cos.

Before my daughter was born we were given some money for her, in my wisdom I decided she needed a necklace of her name; a Daisy. You could say I’m care taking it for her until she’s old enough to wear it.DSC_1096In the name of #sustainable fashion, shoes and bag are not this season (mock, shock and horror). But, I like things to have a story and these kitten heels from Office, were the shoes I wore to my best friend’s wedding in Northern Ireland two years ago. My shiny silver tote bag was a great find in John Lewis last Christmas.

Flattering as it pulls you in at the waist, the midi skirt shape is also a great length; not too long so you’re tripping over it and getting it caught in your buggy wheels, but equally long enough to cover up all manner of sins.
