At the New Look SS15 Press Day what really wowed me were the accessories, and for that reason alone I thought they deserved a blog post to all to themselves, so here is the accessories edit! For as every mum knows an accessory is a cheap (sometimes!) & easy way to do the latest look without too much effort (essential!). The key accessory trend areas New Look covered at their SS15 Press Day were; pastels, metallics, mesh, tassels & brights for high summer. Pastels
I love these python embossed mint slip on trainers, & I’ll be teaming it back with grey marl tapered joggers & a simple white T Shirt, very Alexander Wang!
Metallics
These iridescent espadrilles will be the perfect item for my summer holiday! Sparkly enough to add a bit of glamour, but dead dead practical for running after Daisy who will be walking by then – how time flies! I’m also thinking of replacing my nappy bag with a rucksack as my shoulder bag gives me backache when worn with the sling & I love this one in shimmering turquoise.
Mesh
Still on the same sporty theme, mesh detailing was everywhere! I particularly liked the white mesh tote (bottom right) & thinking ahead to summer it would make a great beach bag!
Tassels
As I mentioned in my last blog post the 70’s are back! Designers such as Alberta Ferretti & Anna Sui showcased tassels in their SS15 Catwalk Shows, (see www.style.com designer Spring 2015 Ready-to-wear) but the easiest way to add tassels to an outfit is on a bag or on a pair of shoes.
High Summer Brights!
Think sunshine, beach, late night parties (if you can get a babysitter!) accessorize your outfit with some seriously bright shoes or a piece of jewellery & you really will stand out from the crowd!
