Someone once said of parenting, “the days are long, but the years are short”. The same could be said for fashion. For it’s that time of year again, designers are head down, nose to the grindstone working on their catwalk show for AW16. The Pre-Fall collections have come and ago. The count down has started, to 5 very important days in February when all eyes will be on our capital, for London Fashion Week is back.

That also means that London Fashion Weekend is back too, the event the British Fashion Council open to us, the public. I am very excited to tell you that London Fashion Weekend have asked me back as their Official Blogger. Not only will I be blogging and photographing furiously to give you full coverage of the 4 days, but I also have for you an exclusive discount of 20% off gold, silver and bronze tickets using the code N420. Please click here for tickets.

So what have we got to look forward to this year? Deciding which day to attend will be your biggest decision, as there are some incredibly beautiful, feminine designer catwalks to see; Mary Katrantzou, Temperley London, Emilia Wickstead and Holly Fulton. Plus of course the trend catwalk show, highlighting the key items for SS16. This is the place to pick up top style tips for the coming season.

Shopping galore! One of my favourite aspects in September was discovering new and exciting brands and having a chance to buy them at a discount. I loved meeting owner Phillip Bree of PB 0110, who produces vegetable tanned leather bags and accessories, all made here in Europe. Also, discovering Maya Magal’s cutting edge jewellery and Leanne Claxton’s hand painted scarves, to name just a few.

The talks from industry professionals are probably the most underestimated aspect of the weekend, but I found them fascinating. This year you could have the chance to hear designer Katherine Hamnett discuss her merging of politics and fashion. Or perhaps you like to hear one of the biggest names in footwear design, Nicholas Kirkwood, talk about a decade in the business.

One thing that is certain, it will be a weekend to remember.
