Simply Beautiful Collection

I am a cynic when it comes to skincare and the pseudo scientific claims brands make. I come from an entirely medical family, so I’ve grown up with a healthy scepticism of anything that is not medically proven.

Moisture is something I am obsessed with. In my experience, well-hydrated skin and good sleep are the basis for good skincare. So drinking plenty of water and owning a good moisturiser are essential. As a blogger, I am often given new skincare products to try, yet I will not feature a product or brand unless it actually makes a difference to my skin. Recently I’ve been using Simply Beautiful Collection’s range, and I’m converted because it does hydrate my skin. This is what I’ve been using:

Simply Beautiful Collection

Collagen 3-in-1 with pink shammy cloth

It’s a really good cleanser that effectively removes dirt and makeup. It’s gentle, and you can see the grime from the day coming off on the pink shammy cloth. I love the pink shammy as it is very soft so doesn’t irritate my skin. It reminds me of a softer version of Liz Earle’s cloths. It says it’s a mild exfoliant, though I would question that. When I need to exfoliate, I use this cleanser with Magnitone’s bare-faced brush.

Collegen Skincare Gel

This is meant to tackle fine lines and wrinkles, but I can’t say they have massively improved, but equally they haven’t got worse. It is very soothing and moisturising without making my skin greasy, so from that perspective my aging skin looks healthier. I often use it on my décolletage and bump as well, as it makes a good alternative to bio oil, when pregnant, to keep stretch marks at bay.

Vitamin ACE Day & Night Cream

All the experts say that Vitamin C&E are essential for helping your skin fight free radicals, which is basically pollutants in the air that cause aging. Now you might not think the UK is particularly polluted? Well if you live in London you are closest to the most polluted street in the world, Oxford Street. Yes, it’s more polluted than any factory district in China. So technically this cream is giving your skin the added vitamins to help protect it. Whether, having vitamins in a cream actually has any effect on protecting your skin is difficult to say. But, I do love the really moisturising effect of the cream.
