P.i.C Style

My hunt for a sustainable and ethical summer wardrobe has lead me to discover all sorts of new brands. But perhaps the most exciting yet is P.i.C Style, short for Partners in Crime. Founded by two friends, Rhoda and Sarah, it was born out of the obsession to “do fashion the right way.” The concept is so simple. 8 items = 50+ outfits, which epitomises the idea of a capsule wardrobe.

Each item is cleverly designed to be multifunctional. I’m wearing the Bethnal Pinny which can be a pinny dress or a high waisted skirt, because the top section buttons on and off. I also like the fact you can change the straps to be traditionally vertical, or, my favourite, criss cross at the back.

“people want to know where their clothes come from and who makes them.”

All the fabrics are organic and sourced locally. Yet, the price points are very reasonable and range from £60 – £130. If you consider how expensive Topshop has become, and then remember that this is: small-scale, London based, production with high quality fabrics then you’ll realise that what they’ve achieved is remarkable. For they recognise that “people want to know where their clothes come from and who makes them.”

There are so many items in the collection I’d love in my wardrobe. It’s full of classics that are beautifully cut, I’ve had the luxury of trying several items on. My favourites include the Hoxton Shirt in white, boyfriend in fit and made from organic cotton. Also the Dalston Peg, which is a tapered high-waited formal trouser. It would look equally good dressed down with white trainers and a T Shirt as it would in a more traditional setting. For summer there’s the De Beau Cami, made from lace and organic bamboo, which is an everyday essential.

Their website is also home to a curated selection of other garments, all from brands who are ethical and sustainable. So do take a moment to browse www.pic-style.com

That Pinny is a genius idea. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe and it is something I am always looking to achieve.
This looks gorgeous on you both ways. What more it can really be dressed up or down
